TEST METHODS AND REQUIREMENTS[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;OBJECT&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1686219028077-762289ea-ddc6&#8243;][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=&#8221;no&#8221; text_larger=&#8221;no&#8221;]SCOPE<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies the test methods and minimum performance requirements for personal protective clothing, designed to protect the wearer&#8217;s body, except for the head, hands, feet, eyes and ears used during wildfire suppression and associated activities. This clothing is not intended to provide protection during fire entrapment or structural fire extinguishing, rescue, or to protect against chemical, biological, electrical, or radiation hazards. This document does not provide protection against elevated mechanical hazards such as protection when using chainsaws.<strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;REQUIREMENTS&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1686219028087-b2c81765-776e&#8221;][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=&#8221;no&#8221; text_larger=&#8221;no&#8221;]SAMPLES AND PRE-TREATMENT<\/p>\n<p>Samples must be representative. There are tests that are required in original and\/or after cleaning.<\/p>\n<p>The pretreatment of the fabric will be 5 cycles and\/or according to the manufacturer&#8217;s indications<\/p>\n<p>For the flame propagation and heat transfer assay, the assays will be performed before and after pre-treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Before all the tests and after having carried out the specified pre-treatment, the samples will be conditioned according to ISO 139 for a minimum of 24 hours<br \/>\n(20 \u00b1 2 \u00baC with a relative humidity of 65 \u00b1 5%). This overlap must be maintained as long as you make any movement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The general requirements must comply with ISO 13688. They must not restrict the user in any of the movements expected to be made during the spread of wildfires, e.g., bending, stretching, and twisting.<\/p>\n<p>Closure systems, label accessories, contact and closure fasteners, retro-reflective and\/or fluorescent materials&#8230; Attached to personal protective clothing should be designed not to adversely affect the performance of the clothing.
