Martindale abrasion.

3 Control interval: Number of continuous rubbings.

4 Lissajous Curve: A curve generated by motion that starts out as a circle and gradually becomes ellipses that narrow to a straight line, from which ellipses widen further and further in opposite directions diagonally, before to repeat the drawing again.

5 Workstation: Abrasion plate[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD” tab_id=”1686214270856-e449c106-c4de”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]A circular specimen is subjected, by means of the Matindale abrasion tester, to a defined load and to the action of friction with an element, according to a translational movement forming a Lissajous curve.

At the same time, the sample holder, provided either with the sample or with the abrasive element depending on the method used, rotates freely around its own axis, perpendicular to the horizontal plane.

The specimen is subjected to abrasive wear during a previously determined number of rubs.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”EQUIPMENT” tab_id=”1686237129544-82a203f0-2905″][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]The test apparatus is composed of a support plate which carries the abrasive plates and the transmission mechanism,

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”12131″ img_size=”FULL” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”AUXILIARY MATERIALS” tab_id=”1686237321304-442d72ce-c2f9″][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]

Abrasive: plain woolen fabric against which the specimen is abraded (according to Table 1).

Felt: Woven wool felt lower discs (according to table 2)

Foam: Bottom support for the specimen or for the abrasive mounted on the specimen holder (according to table 3)

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”12135″ img_size=”FULL” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row]

TEXTILES.
