1999.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STRUCTURE OF THE STANDARD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This standard has 4 chapters of general information and requirements applicable to the entire standard (chapter 4). 3 blocks of 5 chapters for each type of product and a single chapter for multifunctional protection sets.<\/p>\n<p>Point 1.3 helps users to locate the specific content of each of the combined standards.<\/p>\n<p>The requirements applicable to NFPA 1977 are found in Chapters 1 through 3, 15 through 19 where they include changes from the last edition of the NFPA and Annexes A, B, and D<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCOPE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This standard provides minimum requirements for the design, performance, testing, and certification of technical rescue protection assemblies for use by emergency services personnel; new single-use and multiple-use protective clothing for emergency medical operations used by both emergency medical personnel prior to their arrival at healthcare facilities and by first medical recipients in healthcare facilities, and additionally, clothing and protective items for forest and urban interface firefighting as well as items for cargo transport equipment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this standard is to specify the minimum levels of protection for emergency services personnel in search, rescue, treatment, decontamination, recovery, site stabilization and similar operations in technical rescue incidents;\u00a0 emergency service personnel and first medical recipients of airborne and liquid-borne pathogens and, from contact with bloodborne and bodily fluid-borne pathogens for personnel providing care to patients during emergency medical operations; against the adverse environmental effects faced by personnel carrying out forest firefighting and urban[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;REQUIREMENTS&#8221; effects faced by personnel who carry out forest firefighting and urban interface operations. These requirements are the minimum so that textiles do not cause greater or more severe burn injuries to the wearer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This edition of NFPA 1950 shall not apply to wildland firefighting and urban interface protective clothing and equipment or wildland firefighting and urban interface cargo transportation equipment manufactured under earlier editions of NFPA 1977<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The annual check includes evaluating all design requirements. In the case of quantitative tests before and after washing, only the one with the conditioning that gave the worst results in the annual certification will be carried out. In the case of qualitative testing, a single conditioning will be performed each year to verify all options over time. In the event that the test method requires three samples, only one sample shall be performed for verification. If 5 or more are required, at least two samples will be taken.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;MARKING AND LABELLING&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1686230989207-627576da-aa6f&#8221;][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=&#8221;no&#8221; text_larger=&#8221;no&#8221;]All applicable requirements to comply with this standard must be met and must also be certified.<\/p>\n<p>NFPA 1951, NFPA 1999, or NFPA 1977 identification may not be used unless it is certified to NFPA 1950.<\/p>\n<p>All certification must be carried out by an ISO\/IEC 17065 compliant organization accredited by an ISO 17011 compliant body.<\/p>\n<p>Any certification based on previous editions of NFPA 1977 2022 edition will not be accepted.<\/p>\n<p>The manufacturer will be audited with at least two random unannounced visits every 12 months to verify their quality assurance process.
