Advancing sustainability
As you already know, at #Lenard we are committed to continuous improvement by adapting our fabrics to market demands, while also enhancing our sustainability—an increasingly important aspect in all areas of our lives.
Since last year, we have held the OEKO-TEX PPE label (PPE Supplement) for those finishes which, due to their fluorine content and its salts, exceed the limits set by OEKO-TEX STD 100. This label allows these limits to be exceeded in order to maintain PPE protection. These include anti-acid (AA), water-repellent (HF), and oil-repellent (OE) finishes. This PFOA limit has been a major challenge for the industry in maintaining protection while progressing toward sustainability.
We are pleased to announce that we can now offer an anti-acid finish without fluorine (Fluorine-Free) while maintaining user protection. We call this finish #AAFF.
Thanks to this finish, we comply with EU Regulation 2016/425 regarding restrictions on the use of PFOAs in protective garments, while also ensuring compliance with EN 13034 for two of the tested liquids: acid (H₂SO₄ 30%) and base (NaOH 10%).
This fabric, like all anti-acid fabrics, requires specific fluorine-free laundering maintenance to ensure its properties are preserved throughout the garment’s lifetime.
This more sustainable finish has been tested, and its certification will depend on order intake; no stock will be kept. It will be produced on demand (minimum order of 500 meters). You can request a quotation from our sales department.
Would you like to be part of a more sustainable world? We encourage you to try this finish—we are confident it will meet your needs 😉
