This garment is a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), that complies with the essential requirements of health and safety that are specified in the articles and appendix of the regulation EU 2016/425. Also this PPconforms to requirements contained in European standards EN 13688 (General requirement for protecting clothing), EN 11612/15 (Protective clothing for protective clothing), EN 1149/5-18 (Protective clothing. Electrostatic properties).
This garment is adequate to protect the covered areas of the users during the exposure to heat, against electrostatic charges in order to remove static charges accumulated in it in order to avoid the formation of sparks that can cause a fire. The requirements may not be sufficient in atmospheres thinned with oxygen. This garment is not applicable for the protection against electrical voltage. User will need to adjust the garment by its zip fastener, buttons, Velcro, clips or a mixture of them.
PROPER USE. Protective clothing of general thermal risks (inflammability, convective heat and radiant heat) manufactured according to this standard must not spread flame when it accidentally comes in contact with it. On the other hand, regarding the electrostatic properties, the antistatic protection garment manufactured according with this standard, must avoid the formation of sparks which can cause fire. This PPE is indicated for activities were a reduction of electrostatic charges is needed in the user, avoiding so the risks of fire by sparks of different substances and its steams, as well as the risk linked to the not complete elimination of the electric shock of different devices. However, under certain conditions (e.g. flammable environments enriched with oxygen, with very sensitive materials or explosive mixtures) it is convenient to be advised that the protection offered by the garment could be insufficient and that other means should be used to protect the user at all times. The user must be connected directly to the ground or through conductive shoes or conductive grounds, and has not to take off its garments while being in an explosive atmosphere.

INADECUATE USE: It should draw attention to the dangers by improper use: a) limited flame spread properties are reduced if protective clothing is contaminated by flammable materials; b) the effect of electrical isolation in protective clothing is reduced in gaseous or liquid phase or by sweating; c) a localized increase in the concentration of oxygen in the air, reduces the protection of the welder protection clothes against flames. Precautions must be taken when welding is performed in confined spaces where the atmosphere may be enriched of oxygen.
In terms of electrostatic properties it should draw attention to the danger by improper use: a) exposure to high temperatures when cleaning may cause the loss of its properties, and if a domestic wash is done it may suffer a considerable shrinking of the garment; b) the level of protection of this PPE is altered if not used conveniently fastened and closed.
This PPE should never be used on different risks then the once indicated ( e.g. Chemical Products) Dirt deposited on the surface of the fabric can adversely affect levels of performance, reason why this PPE should be washed when really necessary, as other textile clothing according to the instructions of the label sewn to the garment and more shown above.
Before each use, especially if the PPE has been used and/or washed beforehand, it should be checked properly, discarding clothes that because of its appearance present any doubts on its protection level.
THE PROTECTION IS NOT MEASURED FOR THE CERTIFIED WASHES; THE GARMENT IS PERMANENT FLAME RESISTANT.
