Live working – Protective clothing against the thermal hazards of an electric arc – Part 2: Requirements. Equivalence with EN61482-2:2020 & IEC 61482-2:2018.

DEFINITION

This standard specifies the protection values that garments and fabrics must comply with against Electric Arc. The protection levels can be used according to the following standards: Open Arc EN 61482-1-1 that records the arc rating values (ELIM, ATPV and/or EBT) Box Test EN 61482-1-2 on the Class 1 (4 kA) or Class 2 (7 kA)

Long sleeves that flare to provide full coverage to the wrists
Full coverage from waist to ankles
Coverage up to the neck
No exposed exterior metal parts
No hardware passing through from the exterior to the innermost surface
Identical front arch thermal protection and full sleeves

MARKING

According to EN 13688
If the garment is composed of different layers, the lowest of the arc characteristics and/or arc protection class must be marked.
Specify maximum number of washes.
