UNE-EN ISO 105-C06:2010
This part of ISO 105 specifies a test method for determining the color fastness of textiles against household or commercial washing procedures used with a reference detergent. The tests in this standard do not reproduce the effect of optical brightening agents contained in commercial detergents.
To carry out the test, a Gyrowash/Autowash test kit, 6mm diameter steel balls, a scale, detergent free of optical bleach, a pH meter, an oven, the evaluation chamber for visual inspection, a scale of gray (for evaluation of discharge and degradation). DW multi-fiber fabric (with wool and acetate) for knit fabrics or TV multi-fiber fabric (without wool and acetate) for woven fabrics.
- The Gyrowash/Autowash mechanical device is composed of a water bath with a rotor fixed to an axis that leads radially, several stainless steel containers (75mm diameter, 125mm high and 550ml capacity. Its rotation frequency is 40min^ (-1)
- The fabric is tested under reception conditions and only one test tube with dimensions 40x100mm (+/-2) is made, accompanied by the test fabric Multi fiber TV -DW (ISO 105-F10:1989/AMD 1:2009).
- Each test tube with the test fabric is introduced into the Gyrowash/Autowash beaker with a volume of wash bath of 50 ml. No active chlorine or sodium perborate is applied. 25 steel balls are applied, for shed fabric ph 10.5+/-0.1, ECE detergent (without optical brightener), test for 30 minutes at 60ºC. 10 steel balls are applied for knitwear, ECE detergent (without optical brightener), test for 30 minutes at 40ºC.
- The washing solution is prepared by dissolving 4g of detergent per liter of quality 3 water.
- Once the washing cycle is finished, the test tube is rinsed twice, for 1 minute each time, in two different baths of 100ml of quality 3 water at 40ºC; it is dried suspended in air at a temperature not exceeding 60°C.
A visual inspection of the Color Discharge/Degradation is carried out using ISO 105 A04 and ISO 105 A05 Gray Scales. The evaluation is individualized for each fiber of the multi-fiber fabric.
