DEFINITION

This standard specifies the minimum requirements for limited-use and reusable chemical protective clothing. The use of chemical protective clothing with limited power is intended for cases where potential exposure to light aerosols or low-volume, low-pressure splashes is possible, where a complete barrier against liquid permeation is not required. It applies to chemical protective suits (type 6) and partial body protection suits (type PB[6]):

  • The use of chemical protective clothing with limited performance is intended for cases where possible exposure to light aerosols or low-volume, low-pressure splashes is possible, where a complete barrier against liquid permeation (at the molecular level) is not required.
  • It includes both chemical protective suits (type 6) and partial body protection (type PB6).
  • Type 6 and PB 6 protective clothing provide the lowest level of chemical protection
  • Chemical protective suits (type 6) cover and protect at least the torso and limbs. The partial body protection (type P6) with equally limited performance only covers and protects specific bodies.
